Targeting is the process of defining an audience for your ads. Targeting process ensures your ads reach just the right customers when they have demand for your products/services so they are more willing to purchase, therefore helping you avoid wasting resources.

QC Cốc Cốc provides plenty of targeting options for advertisers. One of them is Category Targeting.

Category Targeting is a popular targeting option among advertisers. This targeting method help advertisers reach the audience who are already interested in their category of products or services.

  1. Understanding Category Targeting:

Cốc Cốc categorizes our users into different groups based on their interests in the data collected through their website browsing and searching histories. Coc Coc users are classified into 21 groups as follows:

  • Education: Users who are interested in Education and have visited/searched for related websites such as exam preparation, online studying, overseas study counseling, etc.
  • E-commerce: Users who are interested in E-commerce and have visited/searched for websites selling goods and services online.
  • Beauty & cosmetics: Users who are interested in the beauty industry and have visited/searched for websites related to cosmetics, spa, plastic surgery, etc.
  • Fashion: Users who are interested in fashion and have visited/searched for related websites such as clothing, accessories brands, etc.
  • Family life: Users who are interested in family life and have visited/searched for websites related to marriage, raising children, home care, etc.
  • Movies – Videos: Users who are interested in movies or videos and have visited/searched for websites where they can watch movies, animations or videos online.
  • Finance: Users who are interested in finance and have visited/searched for websites related to financial areas such as gold rates, insurance, credit organizations, etc.
  • Food – Restaurants: Users who are interested in culinary and have visited/searched for websites related to food delivery, restaurants, cooking classes, etc.
  • Game: Users who are interested in games and have visited/searched for websites related to online and offline games, mobile games, game news, etc.
  • Jobs: Users who are interested in job-hunting and have visited/searched for websites related to headhunting, human resources, recruitment, etc.

  • Competitors: Users who have visited your competitors’ websites.

One user can fall under a few different categories based on his/her interests (e.g. a person is mostly interested in Movies and Food will see ads for both targeting categories).

Using category targeting, advertiser can choose to target potential customers that belong to one or many of the above-mentioned topics.

  1. Which ad types allow category targeting?

Category targeting is available for these ad types:

  • Banner ads
  • Icon ads
  • Browser Skin
  • Video ads
  1. How to set up category targeting?

3.1 Create a new ad:

When you create a new banner ad or icon ad or a new browser skin, you can add categories as a targeting option.

During Step 3: Keywords and targeting of creating a new ad, add categories you want by choosing from the board.

After choosing the categories, make sure to set a bid price for each category.

3.2. Edit an existing ad:

Choose the ad that you would like to add category targeting.

Click + Add categories and demographics and choose the desired categories from the board. Don’t forget to set bids for each category.

Click Apply.
